Dolph Lundgren is a Swedish actor who plays Gunner Jensen in The Expendables trilogy.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Dolph Lundgren grew up in a heavily academic household, and his father pressured him to do well in school. He wound up having difficulties with his relationship with his father, and his anger motivated him to get involved in martial arts. He spent two mandatory years in the Swedish Marine Corps. He later got a degree in chemical engineering, due to his father's advice.

Career[edit | edit source]

Dolph Lundgren's career has been a mix of sports and acting. He played a KGB henchman in the James Bond film A View to a Kill as one of his first acting gigs, and he also played He-Man in 1987's Masters of the Universe, as well as the boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV alongside lead star Sylvester Stallone. He acted throughout the 1990s and made his mainstream return to the big screen with The Expendables as well as the second, third and fourth film as well.
